    Dear ISPA Colleagues:
I am following up on a discussion I have been having with other members of ISPA. It has to do with the word race, and the thought is that this word has a pejorative feel to it. Here in the US, we increasingly are viewing race as a social construction, not one that is biological or genetic in origin. Therefore, most places are using the term race/ethnicity instead of just race. It is thought that the term ethnicity allows us to more clearly identify who we are. We are also increasingly seeing that we are being given the option to check more than one race/ethnicity or simply choose not to answer.

    What do you all think>
